Monitoring Oxygenation in Motion

Advancing physiological monitoring technologies and artificial intelligence to support research and innovation in sport science and human performance.

Joint Research Laboratory

Following several years of collaboration, the EuroMov Digital Health in Motion research unit (University of Montpellier and IMT Mines Alès) and the company Semaxone established the OxyMove Joint Research Laboratory in September 2025.

Co-funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR), OxyMove is part of the LabCom 2025 programme, which aims to structure sustainable partnerships between public research and industry.

Objectives of the OxyMove Joint Research Laboratory

OxyMove’s mission is to develop advanced physiological monitoring technologies dedicated to sport, health, and physical activity.

This work is based on the use of near-infrared spectroscopy sensors (muscle NIRS), combined with signal processing algorithms and artificial intelligence. Our findings will be scientifically validated both in laboratory settings and under real-world conditions.

Our ambition is to develop intelligent tools designed to:

Monitor muscle oxygenation in real time during exercise

Optimize athletic performance and recovery

Prevent injuries and support return-to-play processes based on objective physiological indicators

Serving Science: The French National Research Agency

The French National Research Agency (ANR) fosters innovation by promoting and financially supporting the establishment of joint research laboratories, referred to as LabCom. LabCom initiatives represent a structured form of collaboration between public research institutions and their economic partners, grounded in long-term, trust-based relationships.
